Parent Therapy

Parent Therapy Groups

Our Parent Therapy Groups offer a confidential space for parents to reflect on parenting a disabled child. They focus on parents receiving support whilst sharing the joys and challenges of managing the needs of their child. The group is facilitated by skilled dance/movement and child/adolescent psychotherapists.

The approach is open, collaborative and creative, as therapists support parents in sharing and reflecting safely with other parents. Each group has a maximum of 6-8 participants, so parents have sufficient opportunity to talk and share.

We ask parents to commit to attending through the year to maintain a consistent, closed group. Sessions take place once a month via zoom.

If you’d like to discuss joining a group or have any questions, please email info@icandance.org.uk

Individual Parent Therapy sessions

Individual Parent Therapy sessions offer a reflective, confidential space to share experiences of parenting a disabled child/young person. The sessions aim to improve wellbeing, explore creative responses to challenges and gain deeper understanding of your child’s disability. Sessions are facilitated by experienced psychotherapists. Sessions are offered face to face or via zoom. Please email info@icandance.org.uk to discuss further.
