Juliet Diener

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Juliet founded icandance in 2006 with a desire to build an inclusive community where dance was accessible for all.

She is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, experienced clinical supervisor, trained specialist teacher, ballet teacher and Inclusive dance specialist. Juliet integrates her expertise to create, lead and research inclusive communities and is currently pursuing Doctorate study focused on icandance approach.

Lewis Dryburgh

Lewis Dryburgh

Chief Operating Officer

Lewis has worked with icandance since 2013, drawing on a range of experiences including; 1:1 work with children and young people with disabilities, working with families and operational management of arts organisations.

He is a keen filmmaker, being heavily involved in the media aspect of icandance and intersecting film with dance to enhance the dancers’ experience.

Peter Laycock

Head of Creative Programmes

Peter has 20 years’ experience in arts education and participation: as a dance artist, teacher, lecturer and producer.

He enjoys creating opportunities for people to connect with art, culture and their own creativity. Peter previously held roles at Dance Umbrella, The Place and Akademi.

Fiona Wood

Children’s Site Dance & Therapy Lead

Movement has always been an important aspect of Fiona’s life. Originally a professional dancer with over 25 years’ experience of performing classical and Westend productions.

Fiona is a registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist & clinical supervisor and an associate lecturer and clinical supervisor on the MA Dance Movement Psychotherapy programme at Goldsmiths University

Emma Turner

Young People’s Site Dance & Therapy Lead

Emma’s career as a Drama, Dance and Movement Facilitator has spanned over 15 years across 3 different continents, with people from a wide range of backgrounds, specialising in working inclusively with children and young adults.

Emma is an HCPC Registered Drama and Movement Therapist with an MA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Jessica Lovell

Impact and Monitoring Lead

Jessica has worked in community dance settings for over 10 years since gaining her BA in Dance.

As well as arts venue management, she is an experienced Company and Volunteer manager working within inclusive youth participatory organisations, such as Haringey Shed, to enable inclusive access to the arts.

Ourania Sitra

Ourania Sitra

Dance Movement Psychotherapist & Dance Facilitator

Ourania has been working with children and young people in different setting for the past 7 years.

She is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist while also holding a BA in Special Education. Ourania is passionate about using movement and creativity to support young people to express themselves and connect to others.

Volunteers

Our volunteers play a vital part in the icandance community, including supporting our dancers as Dance Partners each week, assisting with administrative work and communications, and sewing all important costumes for performances.

 

Student Placements

Students on placement are valued members of our team and we offer opportunities for learning through working directly with children and young people with disabilities alongside skilled professionals.
